Ann J. Ferguson Towers is an 11-story, 150-unit HUD Section 202 senior housing community located in Linden. Developed under architect Thomas Mangan, the masonry structure was delivered between 1975 and 1976 at a total cost of $18 million. After securing municipal approvals, and working closely with the Linden Housing Authority, a low-cost HUD Section 202 financing was obtained for the project. Sited on a 3.00-acre parcel (50 units/acre), the building features controlled-access entry, elevators, and communal laundry facilities. Upon turnover, the project was handed off to the Authority, establishing Linden’s first senior Section 202 community, which continues to operate successfully and provides affordable housing to the elderly.
