EV charging infrastructure in the Mid Atlantic real estate market is rapidly becoming a core component of long-term asset strategy. Axria has entered into a strategic partnership with EV Buddy to deploy smart electric vehicle charging infrastructure across Axria owned properties in New Jersey and the broader Mid Atlantic region. The initiative reflects Axria’s continued focus on asset relevance, operational efficiency, and long term value creation.
Based on the planned rollout and projected utilization, the program is expected to generate approximately $30 million in combined charging and service revenue over a ten year period, subject to development timelines, utilization levels, and market conditions. Under the partnership structure, EV charging hardware will be owned by Axria or dedicated capital partners, while EV Buddy will provide its EVChargeShare platform, charger configuration, monitoring, and operational support.
Phased Rollout Strategy for EV Charging Infrastructure
The program will begin with a five site initial phase in New Jersey designed to validate performance across multiple property types.
The Phase 1 deployment includes two office buildings equipped with Level 2 chargers for employees, tenants, and visitors, one multifamily residential property with Level 2 charging for residents and guests, and two retail locations featuring EV Buddy’s EV Charger 2.0 DC fast chargers. One of these retail sites will include a high power Level 3 configuration with four DC fast charging ports.
Following successful performance of the initial phase, Axria and EV Buddy plan to expand the program to as many as twenty Axria buildings in total. The partnership will also evaluate additional DC fast charging hubs in collaboration with qualified charge point operators and infrastructure capital partners, with EV Buddy software integration where appropriate.
Revenue structure and operating model
Across Axria owned Level 2 charging sites, net charging revenue after processing, network, tax, and financing related costs is expected to be shared between Axria or the applicable asset owner and EV Buddy under a host operator revenue sharing framework to be finalized in definitive agreements.
For Level 3 DC fast charging hubs, revenue structures may vary depending on the participation of charge point operators or infrastructure investors, while maintaining aligned incentives across all parties.
Leadership perspective on EV Charging Infrastructure
“EV charging is becoming a core amenity and a long term value driver for our properties,” said Chandra Mandalapu, Chief Executive Officer of Axria. “This partnership allows us to move quickly with a unified strategy that supports tenants, residents, and visitors while positioning our portfolio for the next decade.”
“Axria brings a strong pipeline of properties and a long term view,” said Suresh Arya, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of EV Buddy. “Starting with office, multifamily, and retail assets and then scaling across the portfolio, we see an opportunity to build a meaningful charging network that strengthens Axria’s assets and delivers long term value.”
Key elements of the partnership
The partnership includes deployment of Level 2 charging across office, retail, residential, industrial, and mixed use properties, supporting public, tenant, resident, employee, and fleet charging needs.
EV Buddy’s EVChargeShare platform will provide centralized charger management, access control, pricing, payment processing, settlements, and reporting across all participating sites.
At select retail and mixed use locations, EV Buddy’s EV Charger 2.0 DC fast charging hardware will be deployed to support higher throughput, improved user experience, and future technology upgrades.
Certain properties may also be designated as DC fast charging hubs, developed with the support of charge point operators and infrastructure capital, with EV Buddy providing software integration, analytics, and operational services where applicable.
Positioning for long term asset relevance
As electric vehicle adoption continues to expand, access to reliable charging infrastructure is becoming an essential component of modern real estate environments. By integrating EV charging across its portfolio, Axria aims to enhance tenant experience, support sustainability objectives, and future proof its assets for evolving mobility needs.
